Members currently receive the colour magazine Jewellery History Today three times a year, giving information on the Society's activities together with forthcoming exhibition and other jewellery news, short articles, reviews and correspondence. In addition, members receive the academic journal, Jewellery Studies. Jewellery Studies was published in print form from 1983-2012 and has been published electronically since May 2015.

Membership of The Society of Jewellery Historians is payable on an annual basis in £ sterling. Whenever you join, you will receive a full 12 months of membership. There is no life membership available.

The Society of Jewellery Historians is staffed entirely by volunteers. We will try to reply promptly, but please be patient if you do not receive an immediate response.

Individual membership and Libraries £40 per year

Renewal of existing membership £40 per year

Joint membership (to include a second member at the same address) £47 per year

Renewal of joint membership (to include a second member at the same address) £47 per year

Individual young membership £20 per year

Renewal of existing young membership (age 25 or under) £20 per year

Corporate membership (For institutions with several interested persons. Corporate members receive 3 copies of each issue of JHT; 5 members are entitled to attend meetings.) £90 per year

Small print

Use of SJH logo.
The Society of Jewellery Historians is a learned society that has no restriction on membership. No qualification or jewellery trade participation is required. Membership does not, therefore, imply any particular expertise. The Society’s Council has determined that it follows that members should not use the Society's logo in any way for business communications, including websites.

Membership acknowledgement is sent in receipt of payment.

Membership lasts for 12 months, dated from the date of payment.

All payments by whatever method must be made in STERLING and can be made instantly by PayPal or credit card (see above). Payment by cheque or bank transfer, e.g. cheque or draft drawn on a UK bank, should be made payable to Society of Jewellery Historians.
